Are you aware of this month's HSE Construction Health Inspection Initiative?

Construction sites across Great Britain are being targeted as part of a month-long HSE respiratory health inspection initiative and Dust Kills campaign.

The inspections are checking employers and workers know the risks, plan their work and are using the right controls to protect workers from inhaling construction dust, including respirable crystalline silica (RCS) and wood dust.

HSE has partnered with construction and occupational health organisations to highlight the health risks and the control measures required on site to prevent exposure to dust. The network of partners includes British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS), Construction Industry Advisory Committee (CONIAC), Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA), Construction Leadership Council (CLC), Health in Construction Leadership Group (HCLG), Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and Construction Dust Partnership.

Advice for employers, workers and small builders on the Dust Kills campaign can be found here.

Marking 50 years of experience in developing dust extraction solutions to fit client requirements in the construction industry, Dustcontrol UK remains committed to making work environments cleaner and therefore safer. This is achieved through equipment that are cyclone based, HEPA 13 filtered and built to Application Class H as standard for a no compromise approach to performance and dust containment.
